the "reversed" doughboys of walter A. sinz

Cleveland, Ohio sculptor Walter A. Sinz created at least three Doughboy statues that had the look of both Viquesney and Paulding, but which had the extended and rifle-carrying arms reversed. The example shown at left is located at Curwensville, Pennsylvania. Two others occur at Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Ironwood, Michigan. The last is known to have been cast by the John Harsch Bronze and Foundry Company of Cleveland.
