1921: INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR MARBLE WORK
ON THE RYLANDER THEATRE, AMERICUS, GEORGIA
According to a January 21, 1921 Americus Times-Recorder article announcing the opening of the Rylander Theatre in Americus, Georgia, it was stated that E. M. Viquesney had designed all the interior and exterior marble work. Walter Rylander, the owner of the theatre, was Viquesney's friend and business partner. Together they began production of Viquesney's miniature Doughboy statuettes out of the building at right. Seven years later, Viquesney opened his own theatre, the Tivoli, back in his hometown of Spencer, Indiana.
