1920: VIQUESNEY'S PATENTED "NEW-TYPE"
ABOVE-GROUND BURIAL VAULT
In 1919, while working for Schneider Marble Company in Americus, Georgia, Viquesney applied for, and in 1920 was granted a patent for this "new type" above-ground burial vault. It apparently employed some design features that were novel enough to warrent patent protection. It was described in the patent papers as a "combination burial vault and monument".
