While there is staining, the Doughboy’s color and coating are fairly uniform and it is in good condition.
Viquesney’s grandfather, father, and uncles lived in Barbour County in the middle 1800s and there are still residents who are descendents of his grandfather and of at least one uncle. (Viquesney was born in Indiana after his father moved there.)
