The statue was dedicated in 1926 and appears to be in outstanding condition. The barbed wire is present, even though it is not visible in the photograph above.

Many towns and cities that have a Doughboy often feature it on fundraising items such as this trivet bearing the image of Janesville's statue and pedestal, issued Christmas, 1980.
