MISSOURI
The state of Missouri has three genuine Viquesney "Spirit of the American Doughboy" statues and one replica. The statues at Bolivar and Sedalia, bear the copyright mark of Walter Rylander instead of E. M. Viquesney (Rylander owned the rights to Viquesney's Doughboy for four years). The third Viquesney Doughboy in Missouri stands in front of the Lafayette County courthouse in Lexington. It formerly stood on the camplus of the now-closed Wentworth Military Academy. A Styrofoam replica now resides in Lexington's Wentworth Military Museum.
