John Paulding's "Over the top at Cantigny", model 2043-c
John Paulding's "Over the Top at Cantigny", Model 2043-C.
Identical to original model 2043-A except for the rifle carried in the right hand. |
E. M. Viquesney's "The Spirit of the American Doughboy".
The rifle is always held in the left hand, with a grenade in the right. |
This model of John Paulding's "Over the Top" series holds its rifle aloft in the right hand, but is otherwise identical in design to the other three versions. Even so, it is still often mistaken for Viquesney's "Spirit of the American Doughboy", which always carries the rifle horizontally at its side in the left hand. The Model 2043-C exists in only two locations, Catskill, New York (above) and Astoria, Oregon.
