OHIO
Ohio has more Viquesney Doughboy statues than any other state (14). There are ten signed copies of "The Spirit of the American Doughboy"; one copy-after (made from Viquesney's original molds) at Blue Ash (Cincinnati) signed by George F. Yostel; an unsigned copy at Warren, bearing the logo of Friedley-Voshardt Company of Chicago, Illinois; another copy bearing the copyright mark of Walter Rylander at St. Bernard; and one more signed Viquesney Doughboy of a different design at Lakemore. The ten signed copies of "The Spirit of the American Doughboy" stand at Akron, Crooksville, Fostoria, Gallipolis, Marion, Newark, New Philadelphia, Swanton, Woodville, and Zanesville. The St. Bernard statue is known locally as the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
A Viquesney Doughboy was scheduled to be delivered to Bellevue, Ohio, but there is no record of one ever having been installed there.
