In Monument (or Market) Square at point where U. S. 219, Center Street and Meyers Avenue meet.
An engraving near the front top of the base reads:
LEST WE FORGET The inscription on a plaque reads: IN THANKSGIVING TO GOD FOR VICTORY
THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED IN HONOR OF THE MEN FROM MEYERSDALE AND VICINITY WHO SERVED IN THE WORLD WAR AND IS DEDICATED AS A SACRED MEMORIAL TO THOSE WHO DIED THAT LIBERTY AND THE IDEALS OF OUR COUNTRY MIGHT BE PERPETUATED.
GOLD STAR ROLL (22 names in two columns)
"AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE MORNING WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM."
The base of the pedestal reads:
ERECTED BY AMERICAN LEGION AUXILLIARY POST NO. 112 MEYERSDALE PA. NOV. 11, 1928
